Within three hours of Marrakech, you can stand at the foot of North Africa's highest waterfall, ride a camel across a stone desert plateau, walk the windswept ramparts of a UNESCO Atlantic port, or hike into a Berber mountain village above 2,000 metres. One city. Infinite escapes.
Most visitors to Marrakech stay inside the medina walls and miss an extraordinary truth: within a few hours in any direction, Morocco transforms completely. Snow-capped Atlas peaks. Wild Atlantic coastline. 110-metre waterfalls. A rocky desert plateau just 40 minutes from the city centre.
Every day trip departs from your riad or hotel at a time that suits you, in a private air-conditioned vehicle with an experienced driver-guide — no strangers, no fixed departure times, no rushing.

The High Atlas — just 90 minutes from the city
Every trip is 100% private — your group, your pace, your departure time.
Morocco's dramatic backbone rises just 90 minutes from Marrakech. Hike through Berber villages above 1,800m, follow mountain streams, take lunch in a traditional gîte on a walnut-shaded terrace, and return to Marrakech with the Atlas light in your eyes. The most rewarding full day in Morocco.
Morocco's most atmospheric coastal town — blue-white medina, sea-battered Portuguese ramparts, wild wind, fresh seafood straight from the boats, and the most creative arts scene in the country. A UNESCO World Heritage city, 2.5 hours from Marrakech.
Three separate falls dropping 110 metres into emerald pools — the highest waterfall in North Africa. Wild Barbary macaques watch from the trees above. You can swim at the base in season, hike to multiple viewpoints, and take a traditional lunch in one of the valley restaurants.
A rocky, lunar plateau with Atlas Mountain views — the closest desert experience to Marrakech. Camel rides, quad bikes, sunset dinners in a Bedouin tent, and absolute silence. Just 40 minutes from the medina. Perfect for those who can't make the Sahara.
Float over the Haouz Plain as the Atlas Mountains glow in the first light of day. One hour in the air, patchwork fields below, snow peaks ahead. Ends with a traditional Berber breakfast in a tent. The most memorable morning in Morocco.
Over the High Atlas via Tizi n'Tichka pass to the most famous kasbah in Morocco — Aït Ben Haddou, UNESCO-listed ancient ksar, filming location for Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, and Game of Thrones. Continue to Ouarzazate and Atlas Studios, the Hollywood of Morocco.
Morocco's most accessible mountain valley — a lush green river corridor winding up into the Atlas, lined with Berber market villages and leading to the cascade at Setti Fatma. Just one hour from Marrakech, but a world away. Perfect for a half-day escape.
Two hours riding quad bikes across the rocky Agafay plateau, through dry riverbeds and Berber hamlets with the Atlas ridge on the horizon. The most adrenaline you'll get within 40 minutes of a Marrakech riad. Combine with a camel ride and sunset dinner for the full Agafay experience.
Cooking class in a riad? Sunrise camel ride followed by breakfast in the Agafay? A full-day combining Aït Ben Haddou with a side trip to the rose valley? Tell us your day — we'll organise it.
The Sahara (Erg Chebbi, Merzouga) is 550km from Marrakech — an 8–9 hour drive each way.
It cannot be done as a day trip without spending the entire day in a vehicle. We will always be honest about
this rather than sell you a bad experience.
However, the Agafay Desert — a wild, rocky plateau just 30km
from Marrakech — offers a genuine desert experience: silence, space, Atlas views, camel rides, and sunset
dinners in a Bedouin camp. For most travellers, it is the perfect day trip substitute.
For the real Sahara dunes? We recommend a 3-day tour.

"We spent the day in the Atlas and it was the highlight of our entire Morocco trip. The Berber village we walked through felt completely untouched. Our driver explained the history of every house we passed. We had no idea all of this was just 90 minutes from Marrakech."
"Essaouira was the most beautiful town I saw in Morocco. The drive along the coast was stunning. Our driver knew the best fish stall at the harbour, took us to a women's argan cooperative on the way, and had us back in Marrakech in time for dinner. Perfect day."
"The hot air balloon at sunrise was one of the most magical experiences of my life. The Atlas Mountains turned pink and gold as we floated over the patchwork fields below. The Berber breakfast afterwards was a wonderful surprise. Book it — you will not regret it."
